Ashcroft: Can't You Just Go The Hell Away?

As reported in Yahoo News via the AP, Ashcroft has made some remarks criticizing judges who go against decisions made by President Bush. Such gems as:
"The danger I see here is that intrusive judicial oversight and second-guessing of presidential determinations in these critical areas can put at risk the very security of our nation in a time of war," Ashcroft said in a speech to the Federalist Society, a conservative lawyers group.
Yeah - second guessing Bush, as in making sure he keeps within the law and the constitution. More:
Courts are not equipped to execute the law. They are not accountable to the people," Ashcroft said.
I hate to say it, but DUH! They are there to provide the checks and balances in just these situations. Ashcroft should know better, but we all know he doesn't. Problem is, this is the type of thinking that pervades that White House.
